Alumnus wins award at Philippines film festival
31 May 2020 Alumnus Miyuki Kamimura (’05) received the Best Performance award at Dreamanila International Film Festival for his performance in Filipino film Tanabata’s Wife, which also won the Grand Jury Award. -
Passing of faculty member Phillip Zarrilli
05 May 2020 ITI is deeply saddened by the demise of longtime faculty member, collaborator and friend Phillip Zarrilli, who passed away on 28 April 2020.
Our deepest condolences to his loved ones. Phillip will be dearly missed by the ITI family. -

Awards and nominations for alumni and faculty
28 Feb 2020 Saran Jith (‘17) was honoured at the JC Daniel Kalashreshta Awards for his film debut in Nalpathiyonnu, movement teacher Lim Chin Huat was nominated for a Life Theatre Award for Best Set for Not In My Lifetime? (The Finger Players and Gateway Academy) and Grace Kalaiselvi (‘14) received a nomination for Best Guest Actress (Drama) at the Indie Series Awards for People Like Us. -
Passing of Wayang Wong master teacher Bambang Besur Suryono
21 Jan 2020 ITI is deeply saddened by the passing of Wayang Wong master teacher Bambang Besur Suryono on 21 January 2020. Besur had given 12 cohorts of ITI students the honour of learning the form. Our sincere condolences to his loved ones. We will miss him dearly. -
Sasi speaks at conference in Taiwan
14 Dec 2019 ITI Director T. Sasitharan was invited to speak at Embodying Theatre: Actor Training of EX-Theatre Asia Conference in Taiwan, organised by EX-Theatre Asia. He joined a panel on "Preparing to Perform". -

09 Dec 2019 Two Kerala-based alumni received awards recognising their contributions to theatre: Sreejith Ramanan (’08) received the Kanal-Vayala Award and Sankar Venkateswaran ('06) received the Shankar Nag Theatre Award. -
