ITI had its first-ever Instagram Takeover series, involving final-year student Kewal Kartik, alumna Wendy Toh ('19) and ITI Director T. Sasitharan (Sasi). Kewal provided fresh perspectives on the student life at ITI, while multi-disciplinary artist Wendy shared about how she's been creating art through various mediums and forms during the pandemic. Sasi spoke about the importance of the arts in today's landscape and what contemporary actors can gain from studying traditional art forms.
Watch the highlight reel here, where they answer some frequently asked questions about ITI's pedagogy and actor training.
“Making art is no easy thing. It’s thankless most of the time, it’s time-consuming, and completely consumes you — so the question is: Why do people do it?
But of course, art has been part of our lives for as long as recorded history. It is something we can’t do without, and thank goodness for that, because I think art is such an important consolation in life.”
~ ITI Director T. Sasitharan
