Voice & Text

Simon Workshop 1920X1080

Learn how to explore text and discover your voices’ full expressive potential from wherever you are!

Session 1 (25 July): Unlocking the expressive potential of the voice

Participants will be introduced to a variety of practical text-based exercises to unlock the expressive range of the spoken voice, and guided through techniques for keeping the voice alive, vital, and connected —  on-line, on-screen and on stage.

Session 2 (1 Aug): Unlocking the text

Building on the previous session's work, the focus will turn to how to engage with text. Participants will be introduced to techniques for unearthing dramatic possibilities in text, heightening their connection to the word and for allowing the voice to claim its full expressive range. Texts will be provided in advance so that participants can learn their lines before the workshop.

Each session will have dedicated time for participants’ questions, comments and feedback.

Hear what past participants have to say!

"Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Simon is an excellent teacher in explaining concepts."

"Even though I am familiar with Estill work, it is lovely to be able to see how the work can be applied to acting and not just singing or therapy."

Successful applicants may apply for the National Arts Council’s Capability Development Scheme for the Arts (CDSA).  Please refer to www.nac.gov.sg/CDSA for more information.
