Preparing to Act: A Demo-cum-Workshop on Action

Understanding the principles of action is the beginning to understanding acting. The nature of action – its truth and integrity, its shape and consistency, its connection to the body and breadth, and its infinite variety – are the foundation of any credible approach to acting. Drawing on the methods of theatre anthropology and physical theatre, Angelelli reveals the beating heart of the art of acting.

Participants should be 16 years or older with some experience in acting. They are to select and memorise 10 to 15 lines of dramatic text in English as well as a song of their choice for their use as material in the workshop.
