ITI’s 25th Anniversary programme continues with the ‘ITI25 Workshop Series: Being, Becoming, Sustaining’ — open to aspiring and emerging theatre practitioners who are curious about the foundational practices that contribute to the strength, versatility, and raw physicality of the ITI artist.
Through these workshops, participants will learn to sense into the body, attuning to the quality of connection with time, space, and our surroundings. They will explore movement-based approaches to text through traditional and contemporary theatre techniques, character play and mask work. Finally, through practice sharing and devising exercises, participants will reflect on what it means to nurture a curious body and mind in order to deepen and sustain an artistic life.
The workshop series is led by three actor-artist-educators who have been profoundly shaped by the experience of intercultural training at ITI, from the early days of TTRP to the present day: Andy Ng Wai-shek, Yazid Jalil and Koh Wan Ching.
Discounts are available for students, NSFs, and participants who register for more than one workshop.

This workshop will open a space for participants to deepen their sensitivity to their surroundings and heighten their awareness of the present as a foundation for Acting.
Through a series of exercises led by Hong Kong theatre veteran, ITI Acting teacher and alum Andy Ng Wai-shek (‘03), participants will discover how interactions with time, space, and physical connection affect the individual and group. Learn to expand presence by attuning to the organic state of the body, rather than resisting or manufacturing feelings. Work with energy, respond to information and ignite impulses to act.
