Discover ways to excavate energy, imagination and expressivity within the body through exercises and tasks led by ITI alumnus Seng Soo Ming (Malaysia). Experience dynamic interaction between voice, text and body through an experimental laboratory led by ITI Acting and Movement teacher Koh Wan Ching (Singapore).
This workshop will draw from Viewpoints, physical games and play, as well as devising and composition tools to facilitate a highly corporeal and visceral approach towards performing and creating. It seeks to cultivate a dynamic, curious and energised presence within performers.
‘Connecting to the moment’ is open to performers and directors aged 18 and above, particularly those with an interest in pursuing professional theatre studies. Please come prepared with a memorised text of about 10 lines, in order to explore vocalization during the workshop. The text can be a dramatic text, poem or prose.
The workshop will be followed by a short talk and Q&A about the Intercultural Theatre Institute (ITI), Singapore.
