------

The Residency at ITI seeks to facilitate independent practice research and experimental performance-making within the community. The programme offers space and time for artists to develop their practice through dialogue and experimentation, focusing on cultivating a process-based approach.

In keeping with ITI’s culture and philosophy, the Residency is an initiative to nurture technical competence, critical awareness, social engagement and artistic autonomy in theatre artists – demonstrating their capacity to contribute significantly to the theatre-making processes and cultures of their communities.

Artists-In-Residence will have opportunities for meaningful exchange with the international student body at ITI, and our esteemed faculty and arts managers, through participation in ITI events like conferences, forums, workshops,  open classes, and presentations

Towards the end of their residency, Artists-in-Residence will be asked to offer opportunities for observations by, conversations with, and/or participation from ITI students and the public. The format is open-ended, to be suggested by the artist/s. Past examples include a sharing session, work-in-progress presentation, and workshop. View them here.
