Jia Li taught drama at the Shanghai Singapore International School after returning to Shanghai, where she was responsible for launching and running the Chinese Culture Room. She directed and performed a solo performance Karaoke Medea, directed Dario Fo’s Michele Lu Lanzone, and made a solo performance Shakuntala, integrating Beijing opera and Indian Kutiyattam elements. She worked as a translator for several renowned professors such as Richard Schechner and taught Beijing opera-related classes in the US, UK and Bulgaria. She now works at the International Affairs Office at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Jia Li received support from the Georgette Chen Scholarship for her studies at ITI. She also has an MA in Enterprise and Management for Creative Arts from the University of the Arts, London.
