Sia Ee Mien Singapore

Ee Mien works directly with primary and secondary schools as a drama teacher and director to bring drama to the youths and their community. She taught drama for the Singapore Youth Festival 2011. Ee Mien is also actively involved in playback theatre as a facilitator and teacher. She has conducted playback workshops twice in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Ee Mien chose to pursue acting at ITI in her bid to enhance the quality of the community projects she was involved in. In 2009, she performed in Kuo Pau Kun’s The Spirits Play, the inaugural play of the Traditions & Editions Theatre Circus, a theatre collective established by ITI alumni. The Spirits Play went on to the 12th Bharat Rang Mahotsav in January 2010 after opening in Singapore. Her other recent works include IgnorLAND of its Desires by Drama Box in 2009, I Am Queen by The Theatre Practice in 2008, and The Journey West: White Bone Fiend by Paper Monkey Theatre at Esplanade’s Huayi Festival 2009. Her previous forays beyond acting for the stage included television hosting on Singapore’s Mandarin channel, work for Heartland TV and Gateway Entertainment, and being part-time lecturer for the Performing Arts course at the Theological Centre for Asia.
