Sajeev Purushothama

Sajeev is working as a producer, performer and teacher based in France and India. After graduation from ITI, Sajeev became a member of Compagnie Pas de Dieux, a physical theatre company based in Paris. Sajeev participated in the Deroux/Grotowski intensive research training project and performed in Don Qui, a contemporary theatre project based on Don Quixote by Companie Pas de Dieux, which premiered in 2006 and was presented at the Festival of New Tendencies in Theatre 2009 in Madrid, Théâtre du Lierre, Paris and Théâtre Gilgamesh, Avignon in 2008. Since 2009, he has been collaborating with several arts institutions in France including International Centre for Theatrical Research and Training, Centre Nationale de la Danse and Ecole Voie de l’acteur on “Monkeyelephant”, a long-term project of pedagogical research and training. This is a project he initiated, inspired by the training at ITI and his personal experiences. Monkeyelephant presented a two-day intensive workshop at Micadanse in Paris in April 2011. He is also a founding member of a theatre company based in Paris with collaborators from Russia, Germany, Belgium and France. One of their productions is based on “solitude and science”, to be developed through artistic residencies.
