An active player in the Malaysian theatre scene, Amelia is the Artistic Director of Tea Theatre, a company specialising in educational theatre productions and basic theatre training for people of all ages, which she co-founded in 2001. As an actor, Amelia performed in The Lost and The Ecliptic, a play which was co-presented by Pentas Project and the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre in October 2007, and later went on to the Esplanade in Singapore as part of The Studios series in 2010. She was also in The Adults Are Missing by Singapore Arts Theatre in 2008. After her graduation from ITI, she was part of a youth directing project in Malaysia, and was also invited to co-produce a musical and the Ada Drama Awards 2006. She studied at ITI with the intention of strengthening her understanding of multicultural practices and their application to contemporary theatre.
