Jijivisha Akshay

Jijivisha Akshay is an actor and theatre-maker. He is a graduate of the Intercultural Theatre Institute in Singapore, where he trained in both contemporary acting and traditional Asian theatre forms, including Noh, Beijing Opera, Wayang Wong, and Kutiyattam.

His work primarily focuses on a psycho-physical approach to acting, emphasising the synchronicity of the body, voice, and text. He has collaborated with a diverse range of directors, including Aarne Neeme (Australia), Guillermo Angelelli (Argentina), Tan Beng Tian (Singapore), Elizabeth de Roza (Malaysia), K.S. Rajendran, and Sankar Venkateswaran (India).

He has performed extensively across India in major theatre festivals, such as Bharat Rang Mahotsav, the Theatre Olympics, the North East India National Theatre Festival, and Bharat Bhavan Rang Mahotsav. His international credits include performances in Singapore at The Esplanade, Drama Centre Black Box, and Play Den at The Arts House.

Jijivisha Akshay is a recipient of the Tan Chay Bing Education Fund Scholarship and a beneficiary of the Möbius Fund, a revolving loan fund for actor-students.
