Aaron Kaiser Garcia is a performance artist, dancer, and choreographer. He graduated from the Philippine High School for the Arts with a specialisation in folk dance and the Intercultural Theatre Institute in Singapore. He is a former Executive Council Member of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts - National Committee on Dramatic Arts, the Philippines.
In his work, he explores the body’s potential to process the manifold layers of the Filipino socio-political psyche. For him, dance and choreography are tools not only to expose political revisionism, but to actively resist it. Though trained in folk dance, he now critically interrogates the entanglement of this tradition with state-orchestrated systems of violence and cultural erasure. In response, he proposes an alternative vision of folklore—as a living, collaboratively created practice rooted in reciprocity and transformation.
