ITI Year 1 and 2 students presented An Evening of Noh after nine weeks of immersive training under the tutelage of Noh master teachers Kanze Yoshimasa and Kuwata Takashi of the Kanze Kyukohkai School. This year, they were also joined by visiting students from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
The event started with a performance of an excerpt from Noh play Atsumori, performed by Kanze Yoshimasa. To conclude the evening, the master teachers answered questions from audience members in a dialogue session moderated by ITI Director T. Sasitharan and interpreted by Ananthanarayanan Yagnya.
The 2019 Noh term at ITI was supported by JCCI Singapore Foundation Limited, in association with Japanese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Singapore.
