    Passing of Wayang Wong master teacher Bambang Besur Suryono

    ITI is deeply saddened by the passing of Wayang Wong master teacher Bambang Besur Suryono on 21 January 2020. Besur had given 12 cohorts of ITI students the honour of learning the form. Our sincere condolences to his loved ones. We will miss him dearly.

    Alumna Yeo Yann Yann receives top awards

    Alumna Yeo Yann Yann ('03) won Best Leading Actress at the Golden Horse Awards and Best Actress at Pingyao International Film Festival, for her performance in Anthony Chen's film Wet Season. She also received the Inspiring Woman in Film Award at the Singapore International Film Festival.

    ITI has received S$1 million from prominent businessman and philanthropist, Dr Stephen Riady — one of the largest gifts from an individual donor to an independent arts organisation in Singapore.

    Alumnus Miyuki Kamimura (’05) received the Best New Actor award at Urduja Film Festival for his performance in Filipino film Tanabata’s Wife. His performance also earned him the Best Actor award at ToFarm Film Festival 2018.

    Alumni elected to National Committee on Dramatic Arts in the Philippines

    Alumni Felimon Blanco (’05) and Denise Mordeno Aguilar (’14) have been elected as Head and Secretary, respectively, of the National Committee on Dramatic Arts in the Philippines from 2020 - 2022. They previously held the respective positions of Vice Head and Assistant Secretary from 2017 - 2019.

    ITI movement teacher Lim Chin Huat received the NAFA Distinguished Alumni Medal from his alma mater, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), in recognition of his contributions to the Singapore arts scene.
