Manifesto for the Arts Press/media briefing

11 April

ITI Director T. Sasitharan (Sasi) was one of the artists who crafted A Manifesto for The Arts – a statement of artists’ values and intentions, for consideration by artists and the wider public. Its key thrust is “that our life as a people should engage, embrace and involve culture and the arts more fully, more deeply, and essentially”. This is the first time that such a “manifesto” has been put forward for discussion.

The Manifesto was made known to the public at a press and media briefing on 11 April, and online. As of 1 July 2013, more than 1000 individuals and organisations have signed the petition, as of 1 July 2013.
